The foundation of Winchester was built when owners Robert Weis and George Yuhasz combined over thirty years of industry knowledge to debut the first triple-glass Bristol replacement double-hung. Making triple-pane windows 26 years ago set the stage for Winchester to be the leader in window innovation. The need for more energy efficient windows was apparent because of the ever present and growing energy crisis. Recognizing an untapped market, Weis and Yuhasz knew there was a need to develop and manufacture a high-end replacement window. Homes, both old and new, needed a product that would replace the inexpensive and extremely non-energy-efficient windows that were and still are used in new construction. The revolution of Winchester's top-of-the-line windows has evolved from clear triple glass to triple glass with more energy efficient features. These features include our own proprietary gas mixture, specialized spacer system, and superior reflective coating materials in a one-inch insulating glass unit. A superior insight into rising energy costs is still the reason Winchester only manufactures a state-of-the-art high technology product. Our Bristol Q-IV Locking System was pioneered to surpass security features already on the market. Four hardened steel locking points create not only a visual difference but adds a built-in security feature that allows Winchester to provide a guaranty against home break-ins. Our list of unique and patented features, coupled with our superior glazing features, clearly differentiates Bristol windows from 99 percent of all the other replacement windows on the market. In addition to a full line of custom window models, steel entry door and patio doors in various styles, sizes and colors are available. Winchester maintains a dealer network of about 35 companies. This network covers over 35 states that are represented by exclusive territories. Sales representatives are knowledgeable and installers are carefully trained to measure each home and precisely install these units. All products are custom-made for every opening, which ensures a perfect fit. When the world was exposed to Energy Star qualificationa and 30/30 ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) qualifications to be eligible for tax credits Bristol products needed nothing.
